The beat generation is passing on with Lucien Carr's death today. Carr introduced Kerouac, Burroughs and Ginsberg. He's also said to have provided the scroll for On The Road. The scroll, BTW, is going on the road.
Carr's son, Caleb, is author of The Alienist.
Lawrence Ferlinghetti continues to carry the torch with a new book last year.
