Bush Strikes at Civil Liberties, Due Process and Balance of Powers

A NYTimes editorial, "The Trust Gap" on February 12, 2006 succinctly describes the reason so many in the United States continue to protest George Bush Jr.'s actions. From the day the Supreme Court declared him the winner in 2000 (and one of the lawyers for Bush had a Supreme Court member's son in his law firm) to the wrongness of the invasion of Iraq to the failure to protect the people of the Gulf Coast..."We can't think of a president who has gone to the American people more often than George W. Bush has to ask them to forget about things like democracy, judicial process and the balance of powers — and just trust him. We also can't think of a president who has deserved that trust less."
He is, indeed, a little man.
