Reflections on the "problem" novel for young adults by Barbara Feinberg suggest open destiny as an antidote to troubling books. Feinberg's observations on librarians and Newbery medal winning books bear review, but I can't help but wonder why she didn't comment about the "Best Books for Young Adults" and other awards given by the Young Adult Library Services Association?
